Avery Dixon, a 21-year-old saxophonist from Atlanta, Georgia, brought an incredibly powerful and emotional performance to the America’s Got Talent stage. Avery shared his heartbreaking journey of being bullied in elementary school for his voice and physical appearance, experiences that once led him to a very dark place. He turned to the saxophone as an escape, eventually finding his purpose and his voice through his instrument.
His performance was so moving that it brought the entire audience to their feet, earned him four enthusiastic “Yeses,” and prompted a touching show of support from Terry Crews, who promised to have his back against any bullies from his past. Avery’s audition was a testament to resilience, proving that he is truly meant to be on that stage.
