It’s hard to overlook the connection between Dakota Striplin’s new rendition of “Love Me Tender” during his audition on The Voice and his claims to be Elvis Presley’s grandson!
A young man named Dakota Striplin starts playing the guitar and singing with an exquisite voice at the start of the movie. Immediately, a judge puts her palm on her heart and circles her chair.
Another judge flips her chair and says, “I need to see what’s going on here.” One of the judges says she’s thrilled to see this young man here at the end of his performance. He played in addition to singing, which has the judges in awe.
They ask him why he chose that song and that performer. According to Dakota, he was inspired by Elvis Presley. It’s a common joke that he might be his grandmother’s grandson, because his grandmother used to love going to the theater. The judges laugh when they see the likeness.
Dakota starts off by stating that his father doesn’t discuss his story very often. In contrast, his grandmother used to travel to Hawaii to assist with Elvis Presley’s performances. None of Dakota’s other children would travel to Hawaii with her, but her father would.
His grandmother had a deeper and more emotional sorrow when Elvis passed away. His grandfather is not his biological grandfather, according to a DNA test conducted a few years ago. According to the belief, Elvis Presley’s grandchild is Dakota Striplin.
After the narrative, two contestants vie to be selected as his coach. Lastly, he selects the judge who first supported him. Another video of Dakota singing during a knockout round follows.
We can always find solace in our constant identity in Christ, even if we are not constantly aware of our origins. We become members of God’s family when we accept Jesus as our Savior.
