Alimony & Senior Passports! 80-Year-Old Comedian Marty Ross Leaves Simon Cowell Weeping with Laughter!

80 Years of Sharp Wit: Former Clothing Salesman Marty Ross Leaves the AGT Judges in Stitches

Stand-up comedy requires an incredible amount of bravery at any age, but 80-year-old Marty Ross proved that seasoned wisdom and self-deprecating humor are the ultimate recipe for a viral comedy routine. Walking onto the America’s Got Talent stage with a dapper, bright energy, the Santa Clarita, California native immediately won over the room during his chat with the judges. Marty revealed he spent nearly 50 years working as a salesman in the clothing industry, only discovering his knack for stand-up comedy much later in life.

Thank you for watching!

When Simon Cowell asked if he was married, Marty didn’t miss a beat, deadpanning that he has three ex-wives. He lighthearted added that because of alimony, he desperately needed the million-dollar grand prize as soon as humanly possible. The crowd roared with laughter when Marty officially revealed his age, and he explained with immense sincerity what the audition meant to him: “Winning at any age is incredible… This is the dream, to be able to do this show.”

The second he took center stage, Marty unleashed a machine-gun volley of hilarious, age-related observations. He kicked off his set by addressing the weird comments people make to octogenarians, joking that his own family genetics are unique: “My mother made it to 101, and if you want to know the family secret, we don’t die. No, we keep shrinking until we just disappear!”

He then pivot into a highly relatable bit about visiting his mother in her senior care home, teasing that because of his own graying hairline, the nurses wouldn’t let him leave until he secured a temporary “night pass” from the front desk.

Marty capped off his high-energy performance with a brutally honest, side-splitting story about his worsening hearing loss. He detailed a highly awkward conversation with a woman who mentioned she suffered from a severe “peanut allergy.” Due to his poor hearing, Marty drastically misheard the medical condition, leading to a wildly inappropriate misunderstanding about her symptoms that left judges Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, and Howie Mandel weeping with laughter. By delivering a timeless, masterfully paced variety set, Marty Ross proved to a cheering arena that true comedic talent only grows finer with age.
