The Voice of Inspiration: Autistic Navy Veterans Gabriel and Nate Brown Shock the AGT Panel with 5 Spot-On Musical Impressions
It is always a special moment when a variety act introduces an entirely fresh concept to the America’s Got Talent stage, but a recent audition by brothers Gabriel and Nate Brown raised the bar for both musicality and technical showmanship. Stepping out to the center stage spotlight, the duo immediately shared their deeply inspiring background. Both proud Navy veterans, the brothers revealed that they are also on the autism spectrum. They candidly explained that navigating social situations can be incredibly terrifying, and they intended to use their performance to serve as a powerful voice of inspiration for others in the neurodivergent community.
To help execute their highly complex routine, Gabriel brought out an intricate set of custom-made character and song cards crafted directly in his garage. Nathaniel uses the cards to assist with his communication, and they invited the judges to randomly select one yellow character card and one blue song card to place on a set of easels. With over 576 possible combinations, Gabriel admitted the setup was intensely nerve-wracking, as they had absolutely no idea what exact mash-ups the panel would throw at them.

The second the music kicked in, Gabriel transformed his vocal cords into a flawless, living soundboard, jumping seamlessly between wildly distinct pop-culture icons and challenging vocal arrangements. He kicked off by singing Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer” in the exact, unmistakable voice of Kermit the Frog, before pivoting into a hilariously accurate rendition of Nickelback’s “Photograph” sung entirely by Donald Duck.
The crowd went into absolute hysterics when Gabriel transitioned into singing Train’s “Drops of Jupiter” as SpongeBob SquarePants. The absolute pinnacle of the performance arrived when he debuted a brilliant, uncanny musical impression of judge Simon Cowell himself singing Lewis Capaldi’s “Before You Go,” modifying the lyrics to joke about getting used to “being someone to judge.” Capping off the routine with an incredibly moving, powerhouse performance of Dear Evan Hansen’s “You Will Be Found” in the voice of host Terry Crews, the brothers brought the entire arena to a roaring standing ovation.
The post-performance feedback was an absolute outpouring of admiration. Heidi Klum marveled at Gabriel’s incredible pitch control, noting that every single impression was completely spot-on. Simon Cowell was thoroughly delighted by his own caricature, calling the vocal accuracy “frighteningly pleasant” and praising the brothers’ genuine, highly likable personalities.
Sofia Vergara celebrated the profound bond and visible love between the two brothers, noting that the entire package was spectacular, funny, and incredibly polished. Recognizing them as elite musicians, skilled impressionists, and wonderful role models, the judges enthusiastically united to award Gabriel and Nate Brown a clean sweep of unanimous “yeses,” triumphantly launching their unique act into the next round of the competition.
